After a wonderful few days in Varanasi, we are now in Bodhgaya. We had a great morning out on the ghats walking and taking in the sights (and some unfortunate smells) before grabbing breakfast and heading to the train station. We hopped our train and got settled into our seat when we start talking with sweet teenage boys who are studying computer science. They were so glad to talk to Luke about all that and then we sang Hindi movie songs together. We were laughing and laughing as they begged me to sing and for Luke to dance after I told them what an excellent Indian shoulder shimmy he has...he never did give in, even with our pleading! *pout*
After they got off the train, a gorgeous Indian family with a small boy and baby girl took their seats. We smiled at their baby and she smiled at her "auntie." I love being auntie! We rode for a few hours before they began to unwrap their homemade, delicious smelling lunch. They made a little sample of lunch for Luke and I to share. When we finished it, they gave us more and it was so good. We all ate and smiled at each other.
This was so good for us. After missing our families for Thanksgiving and also, after watching the news and getting emails from worried friends and family from home about Mumbai. We were a bit on edge being at the train stations again and also heading into Bihar which is the poorest state in Indian. We are only coming here to Bodhgaya and then back to Delhi before flying to Chennai for my study at KYM. We are trying to dial in the dates and tickets because our trip is wrapping up in just over a month!! so glad, so sad!
Luke checked the snowcam at Eldora.com (fyi, where we had a wedding receptions)and it is snowing up there! We got a little giggly about seeing the snow flying!
We have so many pictures to get caught up on now...I think we are only 1/2 way around Kailash at this point and that was way back in Tibet! There are no Everest Base Camp pictures or anything...hmmm, I will see what I can do about that.

Good to know that you are settled in at Bodhgaya with the travel there sounding straight forward and interesting. Finally the mtns here are getting snow, as I assume the high mtns to your north are receiving too. Thanksgiving is now just a memory here....but a fond one.
Big smiles as I think of your safe return ! We miss you here in the foothills (sutra group is not the same) ... yet glad to hear that your excellent adventure continues.
