Critical Mass!

This was a totally unexpected an serendipitous event. We had just wandered back to the main square before heading home, and discovered a huge crowd of bikes gathered. Even though we were tired & a bit hungry, we jumped in anyway. After 20k of riding through the city with a police escort (even on the freeway!) we returned to the main plaza, very tired and very hungry, but super excited to be International Bicycle Activists.

Staying Put in Krakow

We are loving Krakow so much that we just changed our flights to Delhi to leave from here instead of Vienna. It means this is our last stop before we fly out, meaning no Austria or Hungary on this trip, but as the details come together, and we are finding new accommodations here, we are feeling great about the chance for more time in our favorite city yet on this trip.

We have hired bikes for the last two days and today we are heading out of the city on the river path to visit an abbey and see a bit of the country side. Grateful for the chance to be flexible and put on the breaks. Grateful that my loves and I are happy in the same types of places. Grateful for a new lego store to plunder. Grateful for bikes. Grateful for charm. Grateful for fast wifi that allows us to make sweeping changes to our plans almost painlessly. Grateful for Vietnamese coffee (ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, sweeten condensed milk) for some liquid energy. Grateful for a sunny day after loads of rainy ones. Man, I don't know about perfection or a "perfect" life, but darn it, I feel a roll of contentment and gratitude right now for what is.

Today we had one tram ride, a 7-hour train ride and then a 45-bus ride to get from Prague to Zidar, Slovakia. That last photo was of Fe on the front porch of the Ginger Monkey hostel where we will be for the next 4-5 days. It’s really gorgeous here and the mountain air is sweet and clean.

Breakfast and Legos are our very terrific hostel, Sir Tobey’s. Mellow day of playing, grocery shopping at the nice little market down the street (where I spotted the Felix Fantastic cat food), we played at friendly little park that is also on our street all while Luke worked, had meetings and made his clients happy. I did laundry and made 5000+ snacks, but didn’t take any photos of those things. In the last photo, Fe is holding a Slim Jim type of salami thing piercing a grape and this was one the snack he made for himself.
