Reining it in...

We are trying to lay down the plans for the rest of our time...6 weeks can fly by if you are not careful and paying attention. And it looks like we need to rein in the trip and keep to the bigger cities or least cities with bigger Tibetan populations because the internet is just better, more reliable there. I don't know why, it is just like that. Our plans to go into Assam to meet a certain Rinpoche, a potential teacher who Luke was trying to connect with is out and we are looking to leave Darjeeling asap to get to Varanasi. *gulp* Can I speak honestly with you? It has been a difficult, teary day for us... today on top of a difficult last few months of travel. Traveling in Asia is hard, gorgeous, trying and rewarding beyond anything else in this world---at least to us. Luke is trying to maintain the incrediably high work standards of his own and his team's while traveling in some of the most off-the-beaten path and unpredictable places of the world. It hasn't been easy for him or for anyone...and God bless each of them(friend and client included) for making it all happen...one way or another. For supporting us in this trip, for making the ends meet when we were out of touch for sometimes days at a time. I hate to name names for fear of making those we love and appreciate so much into uncomfortable heroes...but you know who you are because you are our friends too and you read this blog (I think!? =)

It has been trying day and after a long night for us. Feeling a bit trapped by our life and its circumstances and having a hard time shaking the feeling of wanting to both go home and to never return to Boulder again...so dramatic! We are feeling full of angst and both of us at the same time---this never happens! Usually it is only one of us feeling the chafe, with the other talking some sense, but not this time. And this darn blog is turning into a bit of Dear Diary today and for that I am sorry and likely to delete this tomorrow. We are living our lives on the road right now, and this is a snapshot of anyone's life: taking the beauty of it for granted, knowing it and trying their damnedest to get some freaking perspective on it all. Maybe tomorrow...
