Lake Manasarovar

Lake Manasarovar is the other big reason we came to Tibet.  It forms a sort of spiritual counterpart to Kailash.  It sits near the base of the massive and stunning Gurla Mandhata, a 7,600 meter peak near the Nepal border.

We spent two nights here with a lovely local family in their warm and very cozy kitchen.  Mornings were very cold, but we got up before the sun both mornings to watch the sunrise on Gurla and Kailash.
