Back to Leh after Nubra Valley

I am trying to get Luke to blog a bit more, so you can enjoy his writing---he is so good with the details and its nice to have another perspective on what we are up to. He also usually writes something sweet about me, which I never tire of.

We rested and recovered today after our road trip to Nubra. Tomorrow, we are heading back toward Choglamsar, with some new stops along the way and a chance to drive across the Indus River on suspense bridge and into the village of Stok. Since we returned our bike when we left for Nubra, we went to talk to the thoughtful and concerned owner about checking it out. He is really sweet; he wants to be sure that they are safe and know how to be on the roads here. He also fixed up one of his nicer bikes for us while we were gone and put on luggage racks that also serve as leg protectors. I am excited about this addition because I act as porter on the bike since Luke is driving and dodging---I have bags and cameras strapped all over me. It is quite a scene when we go bouncing over the unmarked speed bumps (aka topes for Edy, Peter, Megan and Caleb). I don't like it very much and sometimes I cry. I do because I feel off-balance and tippy. I also get spooked a little easily on things like motorcycles.
