Wat Shir Suphan

This campus is beautiful. Every last inch of the exterior will be finished in hand pounded silver when complete. I included the carved cement too that is incredible and that I hope to copy in some way back at home. 

You can see from the signs  that women are not allowed to go inside the temple; it's because of Lanna tradition, which I don't know anymore about than that. 

The photo of the monks at their tables are of them working on the silver pieces that will in case the exterior. We learned that afternoon that they also take volunteers (of all genders) and will teach you how to finish out the panels yourself and your work will be hung on the temple along with the monks. I was wishing we would have had more time to take advantage of this but we didn't. 

At this wat they also host a triweekly meditation class teaching the four postures of meditation. Luke attended one evening with a very sincere Khmer monk who also has an incredible personal story of why he is living in Thailand and not in Cambodia.
