7am train to Haridwar today. Rishikesh tonight. Familiar and yet, not so much.

McLeod Ganj to Amritsar today, with an evening trip to the Golden Temple. This is a whole different flavor of India down here on the Punjab plains!

getting set right. we have a pretty, super comfy room with a king-sized bed, nice pillows and a booming geyser in the shower. we also have the wonderfully good luck of arriving in mcleod on the first day of the Dalai Lama’s open teachings, which we attended today for 1/6th of a USD and there are 2 more days of open teachings.

now napped and staying close to home this afternoon with legos and a good book.

Our beds for the night. Luke and Fe in the lower. Me in the upper. Sharing our compartment with a nice woman and her 11yr old boy. Had my backpack unzipped by a would-be thief but he was foiled by being too obvious that he was up to something, though I didn’t feel anything or see anything, and two Indian girls who stopped to tell me to zip it back up and what had happened. My phone was nearly nabbed as it was in that full unzipped pocket. Not nice.

After 24 hours of travel, one cancelled flight, four airports, seven immigration checks and one of the worst security screenings we’ve ever dealt with (at Paris Charles de Gaul) we are finally in India.

Felix has been an amazing traveler, and continues to amaze us with his all-around awesomeness!

No immediate plans, but stay tuned.
